Ringa (Ritual Cap)

Ringa, also known as the Tibetan Buddhist Ritual Cap or Five Buddha Crown, is the ceremonial crown of Vajrayana Buddhism, worn by lamas and vajra masters during important rituals, tantric ceremonies and initiations. Traditionally associated with the Five Dhyani Buddhas and their wisdoms, the Ringa represents the five Buddha families. It stands for spiritual transformation and enlightenment, and for the transformation of the five afflictive emotions into wisdom.

At HimalayanMart, we offer a diverse collection of handcrafted Ringas, from paper to metal, made by our artisans in Nepal. Our crowns are made of copper and brass plate, often finished with gold or silver plating, and some use fabric and other traditional materials. They carry traditional Tibetan Buddhist designs, with detailed decoration and sacred motifs. Each panel shows either a seated Buddha or a single seed syllable, and our collection includes a range of styles for different ceremonial purposes.

Each Ringa is made for use in ritual practice, and also for monasteries, temples, shrines, altars and collections of Himalayan sacred art, as a piece of spiritual meaning, traditional craftsmanship and Tibetan Buddhist heritage.
